So I'm trying, and have been trying for a while, to change up my whole cosmetic routine so it's a little less reliant on chemicals. It's a tricky one, and the hunt has been long and often painful. So, to save you some time, I thought I'd share with you five of my holy-crap-they-work-so-well favourites. (FYI: I'm not sponsored by any of these guys, I don't earn credits/money/slaps on the back for recommending this stuff, I just really love it all.)
Lush's Curly Wurly Coconut Shampoo
I don't care if you've got curly hair or not. This shampoo is the dog's proverbials. Yes, you'll end up getting dessicated coconut all over your bathroom (and rest of your house if you're anything like me), but it's SO worth it. Hardly any nasties and Lush are famous for zero animal testing. And the best smells for days. Plan your day around ordering multiple pots of this stuff. Go into store for the good smells, or check it out here.
Black Chicken Remedies Deodorant
This was probably the hardest thing to find. All-natural deodorant that doesn't leave your other half reeling. And this works. This stuff contains only natural and certified organic ingredients, no harmful chemicals, and it's vegan and cruelty free. It also smells amazing. Sure, it takes a little while to get used to applying this sort of deo, but trust me, it's worth it. It's Aussie made, but you can buy it here.
I came across this really recently and through recommendations. I've *always* found natural mascara to be total shit. Until I splurged (after checking their returns policy) on this stuff from PHB. It's honestly no different to high end mascara, except that it helps to 'strengthen, lengthen and protect' those lashes. It also doesn't smudge, as even the most expensive high street mascaras can leave me with mega panda eyes. I love this stuff! Head here to read more.
Green People Moisturiser
Green People are just totally cool. And this moisturiser is a perfect daily ritual. For me, I just love that it's totally free of synthetics, alcohol and parabens and I can slap it on care free and protect my redhead skin from the sun (yes, even on cloudy days). Check it out here.
Liz Earle's Superskin Concentrate
This is *always* on my Christmas list. Liz Earle is definitely more mainstream than some of the other brands I've mentioned, and I'm really excited about that. And this oil is A-MAZING! I use it every night after cleansing and it just feeds my soul, man. No harmful chemicals, just pure plant oils. Hopefully this stuff will make sure I look young enough to get ID'd for wine for a few years yet. Buy here.
