Sometimes in our blog we like to feature our members. And this is that time!

In this post, TYR founder Chloe gets to know one of our amazing members a bit better and shares their journey with you. Read on to connect with the TYR family and maybe get some inspiration for your own feel-better journey, too.

Welcome Simona! Can you tell us a little about you?

Hi! I’m Simona, originally from Italy, and I moved to London in 2006. I moved here initially just for 3 months to improve my English, but I fell in love with the city and this wonderful country, so I’m yet to buy that return ticket!

I work as Account Manager for a well-known cosmetic brand and I love my job. Although it requires a lot of travelling it gives me a lot of flexibility as well.

I have a son, Freddie, who is 4 and who takes up most of my spare time! We love painting and crafting together, going to cinema, and theatre but also just running around and being silly!

What about yoga? Have you always been a yogi?

I started practicing yoga on and off about 7 years ago. Classes would help me ease my back and shoulder pains, and help release the stress from a busy week at work, but after Freddie was born I didn’t really have much time anymore.

I looked onto online classes, but I really didn’t enjoy them much. There was no room for fun, I couldn’t do some of the moves and I felt discouraged. Until I discovered TYR!

I love the easy-going approach and the fact the teachers always suggest a different pose to suit different levels. I can now have fun during practice and I don’t feel inadequate if I can’t do some of the moves, the teachers encourage you to do something else instead.

Yoga has thought me to take care of my body and my mind, even for few minutes each day, and when I don’t practice I feel very tight, especially around my neck, shoulders and my back really kills me.

I never really called myself a yogi, because I though I needed to be vegan, super bendy and look at certain way. And now, with TYR’s membership to support my practice, I now know I was very wrong!
